New Hope: Shelter for Two Vulnerable Babies

Health situation

The home had 51 children by the end of November. Some were ill but could be treated at the home. However, Maria Masika and Asiimwe Steven had to be hospitalized at Maranatha due to a persistent respiratory infection. Both are now well again. ... read more

Physiotherapy

31 October 2023

Thanks to the additional donation from Spanish volunteers, Gift and Maria received additional physiotherapy sessions in the baby home. The progress is remarkable. Gift's body is generally less tense and she can now hold a cup and drink herself. Maria can even walk on objects! Gift also received a new chair from the Spanish volunteers, which is better suited to their needs. ... read more

Health condition of the children

Fortunately, we only had a few visits to the hospital in July. Only Ronald Tayebwa, a baby, had to spend three days in hospital because of respiratory infections. Singura Godwin is referred to a bigger hospital in Kampala for tonsil surgery. Planning for this has begun.
