What we do
Toro Babies Home takes care of abandoned children whose biological parents are not known. Others are orphans whose families are known, but relatives don’t have the capacity to take care of these children. Some are children born by mentally handicaped parents.
The home management works hand in hand with government and police officials to receive these vulnerable children. Over the years, many children have passed through this home and are now useful people in this world. Children of known parents / relatives are later re-settled in their homes once they are less vulnerable.
We also take care of physically and mentally handicaped children, who nobody wants to take care of. Currently we take care for 47 children, 23 girls and 24 boys. We have 5 children under 6 month. Children above ten year are 5. Mary is 35 year, she has no family and she has physical and mental disability, Stephen is 16 years and has autism, Dorothy is 18 years and has mental and physical disability. Annet is 12 years and totally disabled (October 2021).
