The Toro Baby Home is delighted to receive valuable and sustainable support: thanks to the generous donation of used batteries from Partnerschaft Gesunde Welt – Klinikverbund Südwest e.V. and Equator Solar, another important step has been taken toward energy independence.
The batteries originate from the Naggalama Hospital in Uganda, which is also a partner project of Partnerschaft Gesunde Welt e.V.. They were replaced there under a warranty case, as they could not fully meet the hospital’s high energy demands.
For the Toro Baby Home, however, which has significantly lower energy requirements, these batteries are perfectly suitable. Thanks to professional installation by an engineer, they were successfully integrated into the baby home’s existing energy system within just a few days of receiving this generous contribution.
This reuse is a wonderful example of sustainable action: resources are meaningfully repurposed instead of going unused. At the same time, the Toro Baby Home benefits greatly from the improved power supply. The new battery storage system not only enables noticeable cost savings but also ensures greater independence from the often unreliable and expensive local electricity supply.
In a facility like the Toro Baby Home, where the care and well-being of children are at the heart of everything, a stable energy supply is of crucial importance.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Partnerschaft Gesunde Welt e.V. and Equator Solar for this generous support, as well as for organizing and implementing the installation. Our sincere gratitude also goes to everyone involved who made this meaningful connection between two partner projects possible.
This donation is an impressive example of how collaboration, sustainability, and commitment can go hand in hand—for the benefit of the children at the Toro Baby Home.
