It was a morning of cheers, laughter, recollection and emotions when members of Rotary Club of Kabarole and friends made a courtesy visit to Toro Babies Home on Wednesday 5th, March 2025.
A team of 18 gallant men and women including Rotarians and friends from the US led by Club President Rotarian Muguuda Murungi were astonished by the amazing work Toro Babies Home together with its partners are doing to enable unprivileged children enjoy their childhood without living under the wrath of misfortune especially brought about by disability, abandonment and other unbecoming circumstances that render children homeless and uncared for.
The Warden, Tumusiime Ruth welcomed the guests and elaborately described what Toro Babies Home is all about before guiding them on a tour of the six houses as they interacted with children, staff, volunteers and caretakers also known as mothers.
The American team who were on tour of the region were quite impressed by the staff’s dedication to taking care of the children like their own making them smile and grow happily like any child should.

The team made a generous donation of candies and snacks to the babies and promised future donations and support to the home.
Senior Rotarian Basaliza Edward noted that Rotary Club of Kabarole and Toro Babies Home go a long way, stressing that Toro Babies Home was the club’s maiden project, one year after its charter back in 1985 – provision of an underground water tank behind the administration block which is currently not functioning due to lack of a pump. He called on members to bring the tank back to functionality.
