NSSF Fort Portal handed over a 10,000litre water tank to TBH on Thursday 4th June, 2026 presided over by Remy Tumwesigye, the NSSF Fort Portal Branch Manager and Lawrence Tumwebaze, the NSSF Regional Manager for Midwestern to Ruth Tumusiime (Matron), and Rev. David Tumwesige represenitng TBH Board of Trustees and Board of Governors.
The tank delivered a month ago has been fully installed and supply connected to the home with NSSF Fort Portal covering all costs involved. The tank will be used to harvest rain water to supplement national water and ensure constant water supply and consequently reduce on the home’s water bills.
Remy Tumwesigye thanked the matron for giving NSSF Fort Portal the opportunity to contribute to TBH when the need for a water tank arose and expressed his delight on behalf of NSSF for succesfully delivering a fully installed water tank and promised to further support the home with baby beddings at a later date.
Lawrence Tumwebaze said NSSF celebrated 40years of existence and came up with the 40 Good Deeds Initiative under which the tank and beddings were contributed to TBH. He thanked the TBH fraternity for doing a remarkable job of taking care of vulnerbale babies as he handed over the tank to managment.
Rev. David Tumwesige on behalf of TBH commended NSSF Fort Portal for supporting Toro Babies Home with such a remarkable project that will heavily impact on the sanitation and the water bill of TBH.
