Last month, we welcomed three children to our care.
Sam
Just 1 year old, Sam was tragically abandoned in the forest, tied to a tree for seven days by her biological mother, during which time animals inflicted severe injuries on her. She was rescued by locals gathering firewood and taken to the hospital, where she spent two months recovering. Sam was then transferred to Toro Babies Home by the central division probation officer for care and protection. She has since been treated and is showing great improvement in her health.
James
Four months old, James was abandoned by his mother, and other relatives were unable to care for him. The probation officer from Kabarole district referred him to Toro Babies Home. James is already in good health and is gradually adjusting to his new home.
Stephen
Stephen was first admitted to Toro Babies Home in May 2023 and stayed for three months before being fostered in November when he was four months old. However, after thorough assessment and monitoring of his situation at his foster parents’ home, the probation officer found that he was not receiving adequate care. Consequently, Stephen was withdrawn from the foster home and referred back to Toro Babies Home.
