In July, two children were admitted to Toro Babies Home: Alex and Charles. Alex lost his mother during childbirth after an operation at Buhinga Hospital. Charles was abandoned by his mentally ill mother in Fort Portal Town.
The children were safely transferred to Toro Babies Home in collaboration with the police and the social worker to secure their lives. Baguma Charles’ relatives were located through radio announcements, and they eventually took him into their custody. The handover was conducted properly under the supervision of the police and the social worker.
Unfortunately, Alex who had experienced a traumatic event, stayed with us at Toro Babies Home for only two days before passing away. His relatives took his body for burial.
