In the month of August, Toro Babies Home welcomed two new children into our care.
The first is Shine, a two-year-old girl who was found wandering alone in town after fleeing from her mentally ill mother, who had been admitted to Buhinga Hospital. The authorities transferred her to the police, and she was then referred to Toro Babies Home for protection while efforts are made to locate her other relatives.
The second child, Malia, also two years old, was abandoned by her mother in Kibiito, Bunyangabu town. The police, together with the district’s probation officer, referred her to our care as they work to reunite her with her family.
We are pleased to report that both children are in good health and are receiving the care and support they need during this challenging time.
