Kabahuma Mary has officially completed her primary level which she pursued at Canon Apolo Demonstration Primary School in Fort Portal completing a seven-year cycle in various competences.
After seven years in school, Mary, who is a special needs girl child can now ably write some simple letters and numbers, wash her clothes and mop the house, clean herself well and do simple handcrafting such as beading.

George Kituku, the Headteacher was full of praise for Mary, who he said has been disciplined, caring for others and hardworking during her time at school. He wished her the best of days outside school.
Speaking at Kabahuma’s farewell day, Ruth Tumusiime, Toro Babies Home’s Warden commended Mary for being a strong and dedicated girl during her stay in school and thanked the administration and teachers of Canon Apolo Demo Primary School for their committed efforts to improving the life of Mary who has now become a better person with improved life skills.
Ruth applauded Canon Apolo Demo Primary School for giving special needs pupils deserved special attention and offering them equal opportunities in education further reaffirming the notion that disability is not inability. She promised a continued good working relationship between Toro Babies Home and Canon Apolo Demo Primary School.
