Gift

27 August 2021

Hey, I’m Gift and I came here in June 2019 after I’ve been abandoned in guest house here in Bunyangabu. My parents came as costumers and left me behind when they were leaving. They tried to find out who my parents are, but they failed. At my arrival in the Toro Babies Home they estimated that I’m about eight to twelve month old.

Because of the mental and physical disability I’m going to the Kyaninga Children Development Centre for physiotherapy and they are helping me a lot. I’m improving slowly but now I can sit on my own and try to hold the bottle myself. And that’s also because of the help of the volunteer Ruth who is doing exercises with me and we are spending a lot of time together. I’m very happy that she is volunteering her!

Now I’m already three years old and it’s usually time for leaving the Toro Babies Home. However, since my parents are not known and I’ve not yet found a family to adopt me I think I’m going to stay here.
